He said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the LORD of hosts.  Zechariah 4:6 NRSV

A fresh wind

I had a dream; I was a giant and in a huge forest pulling up old trees with huge roots.  I didn’t pull them all the way out of the ground, just enough to see underneath.  When I pull them up to look underneath a light would slowly become visible and would become very bright…. almost blinding light.  I would put the tree down and then move on to the next.

I’ve recently moved, away from family, friends, church everything I am familiar with and know. Therefore, when I drive, I observe my surroundings.  I love to look at the trees when the wind blows and how strong and sturdy they are against the wind.  One afternoon driving home and began going down a hill, as I was going down the hill there was a dip and the road proceeded up.  I noticed in the distance the trees in the horizon and far above all of them was one single tree.  Standing straight, tall and unmovable, I don’t usually receive understanding of a dream or vision right away when the LORD gives them to me. I instantly thought of the dream I had.  How we walk through our forest of storms, of change, death, break-ups, let downs…  But through our faith whatever you may believe in mine is Jesus Christ, pulls us through.  The LORD shines a light on my circumstance and then I can put it down.  I no longer need to carry the burdens from my past no matter how deep the roots are.  God will allow me and anyone who trusts in the LORD to remain standing, high above the rest, unmovable, unshakable. Sturdy says the LORD of hosts.
